Portland, OR – Rylie Carlberg Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 219 MM 16

Portland, OR (September 23, 2022) – A 47-year-old man has died following a vehicle collision reported on Wednesday evening in Yamhill County. Just before 6 p.m., on September 21, the Oregon State Police troopers responded to a crash on Highway 219.

Reports provided by OSP show that 47-year-old Riley Carlberg was driving south on Highway 219 during the evening hours. For unknown reasons, his motorcycle collided with a van near mile marker 16.

Carlberg suffered fatal injuries due to the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene by OSP. The driver of the van, 41-year-old José Valverde Ortiz, and his two passengers, 38-year-old Carlos Savedra and 34-year-old Abel Valverde Ortiz, were not injured in the crash.

The Oregon State Police is investigating the crash at this time.
