Forest Grove, OR – UPDATE – Lourdes Turcios Garcia Passes Away from Pedestrian Crash Injuries on 19th Ave near Hawthorne St

Forest Grove, OR (January 10, 2023) – The woman who was left severely injured following a pedestrian crash in the Forest Grove area has died, according to authorities.

At around 7 a.m., on January 5, the Forest Grove Police Department responded to the scene of a traffic accident that had occurred on 19th Avenue.

According to authorities, 40-year-old Lourdes Turcios Garcia was pushing a stroller along 19th Avenue. For unknown reasons, a vehicle passed through the area of 19th Avenue and Hawthorne Street and struck the woman and the child.

The woman and child were both injured as a result of the accident. Garcia was airlifted to a nearby hospital for emergency care. The child was transported by ambulance to a local medical facility.

Authorities confirm that Garcia passed away from her injuries on January 7.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation by the Forest Grove police.
