Fatal Truck Accidents in Oregon

Tillamook, OR – Judy Gwyneth Beadle Killed in Truck Wreck on Highway 101 near MM 50Truck crashes are often more severe than other types of traffic collisions. Unfortunately, these accidents take the lives of thousands of people across the United States each year. One of the most common and dangerous types of truck accidents takes place when a driver crosses over the center line and strikes another vehicle. These accidents are often fatal, as trucks are much larger and heavier than passenger cars and cause significantly more damage in a collision.

There are many reasons why a truck driver might cross over the center line, including fatigue, distraction, or intoxication. However, one of the most common causes is simply being unfamiliar with the road. Truck drivers who are new to an area may not know where the center line is, or may misjudge a turn and cross into oncoming traffic.

Whatever the cause, these accidents are preventable, and it is important for all drivers to be aware of the dangers they pose. If you have lost a loved one in a truck crash that was caused by someone else’s negligence, you may be able to file a wrongful death claim. Oregon law allows certain family members to seek compensation for their losses, which can include medical and funeral expenses, lost earning capacity, and the loss of love and companionship.
