Fatal Motorcycle Accidents in Oregon

Salem, OR – Motorcyclist Frederick Lee McKinney Killed in Crash with Van on Browning Ave near Liberty RdMotorcycle crashes take the lives of thousands of people across the country each year. We see many innocent people die as a result of these accidents right here in Oregon. According to the Oregon Department of Transportation, motorcycles are more likely to be involved in fatal crashes than any other type of vehicle. This is likely due to their small size and relatively low speed compared to cars and trucks.

The majority of these crashes occur due to reckless driving by drivers of cars. In many cases, motorcycles are simply not given the same level of respect as other vehicles on the road. This can be due to a variety of reasons, but one common factor is that motorcycles often travel at significantly slower speeds than cars.

Motorcyclists also face additional dangers when traveling on the roads. For example, they are more likely than drivers of other vehicles to be in blind spots due to their position behind a vehicle or object. This means that they may not be able to see approaching traffic until it is too late.
