Portland, OR (May 23, 2022) – A 16-year-old has lost their life as a result of a crash that took place in Clackamas County on Friday near Canby. On May 20, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident that took place on South New Era Road.

Reports from the CCSO show that a silver sedan and a black pickup truck collided in the 1000 block of South New Era Road near Canby. The incident caused significant delays throughout the area after the Sheriff’s office and firefighters closed off a portion of the roadway.

A 16-year-old passenger who was inside the sedan suffered from fatal injuries. The victim was declared deceased at the scene.

Two other passengers and the driver of the sedan were transported to a local hospital for the treatment of injuries. The 63-year-old driver of the truck was also transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are under investigation.
