Portland, OR (June 30, 2022) – A Teen lost their life as a result of a motor vehicle accident near Woodburn on Tuesday evening. At around 9:40 p.m., on June 28, the Oregon State Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Highway 99.

Reports provided by authorities show that a 17-year-old and a 13-year-old were traveling in a Chevrolet Classic on Highway 99. As they attempted to pass a vehicle near mile marker 33, they became involved in a collision with an Indian motorcycle.

The Chevrolet rolled over several times before coming to rest inside a ditch on the side of the road.

The 13-year-old boy inside the Chevrolet was ejected from the vehicle. The teen suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The 17-year-old driver and the motorcyclist, 52-year-old Jamil Nester, were both transported to area hospitals for emergency medical care.

The Oregon State Police and firefighters closed off the highway for approximately seven hours as they initiated an investigation into what took place. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
