Portland, OR (June 16, 2022) – An electric scooter rider was left critically injured as a result of a motor vehicle accident early Sunday morning on the southeast side of Portland. Just after midnight on June 13, the Portland Police Bureau was dispatched to the scene of a major crash incident that took place on southeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Reports provided by authorities show that a person was writing an electric scooter in the area of southeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Taylor Street during the early morning hours. For unknown reasons, the rider was struck by a vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.

The person on the scooter suffered critical injuries as a result of the accident and was rushed to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
