Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in Oregon
Between 2018 and 2019, the state of Oregon saw a 22% increase in the number of pedestrians who lost their lives in traffic collisions. Portland alone loses roughly 20 people annually as a result of pedestrian crashes. Although we like to think that the implementation of safety measures throughout our state is helping, we continue to see families devastated by these and other tragic collisions.
Pedestrian accidents are often catastrophic due to the fact that these people are not protected from outside forces. Although we like to believe we are taking measures toward protecting pedestrians, we continue to see them harmed and killed at an alarming rate.
Although there is nothing that can be done to bring back those taken away suddenly and unexpectedly, families may have legal options available to help them move forward after suffering the loss of a loved one due to another person’s actions. By contacting a wrongful death attorney in Portland, families may be able to obtain compensation to help cover the financial burdens they face.
