Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in Oregon

Each year, more than 500 people lose their lives in vehicle collisions throughout the state of Oregon. Not every person killed in a collision is inside a vehicle at the time of their crash. More than 20 people who lose their lives in crashes are pedestrians walking along our roadways. Between 2018 and 2019, the state of Oregon saw a 22% increase in the number of pedestrian fatalities. These accidents often take place unexpectedly, leaving families to endure the overwhelming mental and emotional pain and suffering they bring.

Not only are bereaved families forced to endure the emotional challenges of losing a loved one, but they are often forced to spend tens of thousands of dollars on funeral expenses, tackle burial costs, and move forward without an income they have grown to depend on.

Although there is nothing that can be done to bring back those taken away suddenly and unexpectedly, families may have legal options available to help them move forward after suffering the loss of a loved one due to another person’s actions. By contacting a wrongful death attorney in Portland, families may be able to obtain compensation to help cover the financial burdens they face.
