Portland, OR – One Killed in Excavator Accident on Amisigger Rd

Portland, OR (February 25, 2021) – One person has lost their life as a result of a workplace accident in Boring, according to local law enforcement. At around 10 a.m., on February 25, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the site of a workplace incident on Amisigger Road.

Reports from authorities show that two Raz Construction Co. employees work working on a construction project at the Townsend Farms blueberry field when one of the workers was struck by an excavator. The worker became trapped under the machine, which prompted emergency crews to extricate the worker.

Authorities arrived at the scene and worked swiftly to remove the trapped construction worker from under the machine. However, the victim was declared deceased at the scene due to their injuries. At this time, investigations are underway with the Sheriff’s Office and Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the worker who lost their life in this accident.

Fatal Workplace Accidents in Oregon

Portland, OR – One Killed in Excavator Accident on Amisigger RdEvery year, thousands of workers lose their lives in accidents on the job. Regrettably, the construction industry is where the majority of work-related fatalities occur. The fact that workers enter unknown territories and battle the elements outdoors while using heavy machinery, leaves them particularly vulnerable to being harmed. More than 10 people lose their lives in the private construction industry during 2019, a number that increased roughly 20% from the previous year. No one can prepare for the unexpected loss of a loved one, and moving forward is often overwhelming for surviving friends and family members.

When workers are killed in accidents, their families are often left to pay tens of thousands of dollars on funeral expenses. To make the situation even more unbearable, families often lose sources of income that they have grown to depend on. Not only are families left to deal with the immediate and overwhelming impacts of fatal work accidents, but the long-term mental and emotional consequences can be unbearable. Although there is nothing that can be done to bring back those taken away suddenly and unexpectedly, families may have legal options available to help them move forward after suffering the loss of a loved one due to another person’s actions. By contacting a wrongful death attorney in Portland, families may be able to obtain compensation to help cover the financial burdens they face.
