Portland, OR (December 22, 2021) – One person has died and a second person was left with severe injuries following an accident in the Portland area. At around 6 p.m., on December 21, emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on Northeast Fremont Street.

Reports from authorities show that a vehicle was passing through the area of Northeast Fremont Street and Northeast 44th Avenue. For unknown reasons, the vehicle struck two pedestrians in the area. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.

When police arrived, they discovered two victims with severe injuries near the roadway. One person was pronounced deceased at the scene from their injuries. The second victim was rushed to a local hospital where they were admitted in critical condition.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
