Fatal Truck Accidents in Oregon

Portland, OR – One Killed in Car Crash on Highway 22 near MM 35Crashes in the state of Oregon take the lives of hundreds of people annually. Unfortunately, many of these accidents are caused by drivers who engage in acts of negligence. There are many causes of fatal truck accidents in Oregon, but some of the most common include drowsy driving, speeding, and distractions.

Drowsy driving is a leading cause of truck accidents because it can lead to impaired judgment and reaction time. It’s important that truck drivers are well-rested before getting behind the wheel. When drivers are drowsy, they may be unable to control their vehicles in a responsible manner.

Speeding is another major cause of truck accidents. When a truck is moving faster than the posted speed limit, it becomes more difficult to stop or maneuver in an emergency situation. This can often lead to tragic results.

Distractions are also a major problem when it comes to truck accidents. Since trucks are so large and require more attention to operate safely, anything that takes a driver’s focus away from the road can be extremely dangerous. This includes things like using a cell phone, eating, or changing the radio station.
