Portland, OR (February 26, 2023) – An employee with the Oregon Department of Transportation was hospitalized as a result of a car crash that took place in the Portland area on Friday morning.

On February 24, authorities were called to provide assistance at the scene of an accident that took place on Interstate 205.

Preliminary reports show that an ODOT employee was providing assistance to another driver who was stuck due to icy road conditions just before noon.

For reasons unknown, another vehicle traveling through the area crashed into the Incident Response Vehicle.

The worker was injured as a result of the accident and rushed to an area medical facility for emergency care.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated at this time.
