Portland, OR (June 1, 2021) – One woman has lost her life as a result of a motorcycle accident in Ridgefield late Saturday evening. At around 11 p.m., on May 29, emergency crews were called to the site of a crash on Interstate 5.

Reports from authorities show that 29-year-old Leslie M. Eckman was traveling north on Interstate 5 with a second motorcycle, occupied by 41-year-old Chris Sombunvong. For unknown reasons, both motorcyclists were involved in a collision with a sedan on the roadway.

The impact of the crash caused Sombunvong’s motorcyclist to roll over. The second motorcycle, occupied by Eckman, came to rest in the left lane of the roadway.

Eckman sustained fatal injuries in the accident and was declared deceased at the scene. Sombunvong sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital for care. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
