Portland, OR (July 2, 2021) – One person has lost her life following a motor vehicle accident on Thursday afternoon on the northeast side of Portland. At approximately 1230 p.m., on July 1, the Portland Police Department and firefighters were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Northeast Sandy Boulevard.

Reports provided by authorities so that a black van and a motorcycle were involved in an accident on Northeast Sandy Boulevard at the intersection of Northeast 162nd Avenue during the early afternoon hours.

The motorcyclist sustained severe injuries in the accident. Emergency crews responded to the scene and attempted lifesaving efforts on the victim. However, the writer succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The driver of the van remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. No other injuries were reported in the crash.

At this time the cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Portland Police Department.
