Portland, OR (July 18, 2022) – A motor vehicle crash involving a drunk driver has claimed one person’s life while leading to the arrest of a second person. On July 16, the Oregon State Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle crash that occurred on Highway 226.

Reports from authorities show that just before 6:30 p.m., 24-year-old Oksana Titarenko was driving south on Highway 226 and a gray infinity when she lost control of her vehicle and veered onto the right shoulder near mile marker 21. The vehicle then overcorrected and crossed into the northbound lane. The vehicle then rolled over multiple times and ejected the passenger from the vehicle.

The passenger, 30-year-old Mikhail Ermolenko, suffered severe injuries as a result of the accident. Authorities arrived at the scene and pronounced Ermolenko deceased.

Titarenko was transported to a local hospital, where it was determined that she was under the influence of alcohol. She was then arrested and charged with 2nd° manslaughter.

The crash is under investigation at this time by the Oregon State Police.
