Portland, OR (May 9, 2022) – A 34-year-old man has lost his life following a pedestrian accident on Friday evening in East Salem, according to local authorities. At around 10:25 p.m., on May 6, emergency crews were dispatched to the scene of an auto accident on Lancaster Drive Northeast.

Reports from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office show that a 34-year-old man was walking in the 600 block of Lancaster Drive Northeast. For unknown reasons, he was struck by a vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, a 50-year-old man, remained at the scene and spoke to authorities. The driver was not injured in the crash.

The pedestrian suffered severe injuries in the accident. Authorities confirmed that the victim passed away before emergency crews arrived.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
