Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in Portland, Oregon

Portland, OR – Man Loses Life in Car Crash on NE Milton St near NE 145th AveEvery year, more than 20 people lose their lives in pedestrian accidents across Portland. The number of fatal pedestrian accidents saw a dramatic increase between 2018 and 2019, jumping nearly 22%. Although we continue to see more people out walking, the risks associated with doing so are drastically increased when there are negligent and reckless drivers sharing the road.

When pedestrians lose their lives in accidents, their families are often left to pay tens of thousands of dollars on funeral expenses and burial arrangements. To make the situation even more difficult to endure, families often lose sources of income that they have grown to depend on. Not only are surviving relatives left to deal with the immediate and overwhelming challenges from pedestrian crashes, but the long-term mental and emotional consequences can be unbearable. Although there is nothing that can be done to bring back those taken away suddenly and unexpectedly due to the negligence of other motorists, families may have legal options available to help them move forward after suffering the loss of a loved one. By contacting a wrongful death attorney in Portland, families may be able to obtain compensation to help cover the financial burdens they face.
