Portland, OR – Kayd Shelby Injured in Crash on Highway 58
Portland, OR (December 25, 2021) – One person was left severely injured following a motor vehicle accident in Lane County on Thursday evening, December 23. At around 5:35 p.m., on December 24, emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on Highway 58.
Reports from the Oregon State Police show that 18-year-old Steven Mori was driving a Dodge 4500 while pulling 168 bales of hay on a large trailer. For unknown reasons, the vehicle became involved in a crash with four other vehicles on the highway.
One person involved in the crash, identified as Kayd Shelby, sustained severe injuries and was airlifted from the scene of the crash to a local hospital for care. Six others were transported by ambulance to local hospitals.
Crews remained on-site for over two hours as they worked to clear the scene.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
