Portland, OR (July 3, 2022) – A jet ski accident reported in the Portland area on Friday evening left one person seriously injured. On July 1, the Portland Police Bureau and the Portland Fire & Rescue responded to the scene of an accident on the Willamette River.

Reports provided by authorities show that two people were jet skiing on the Willamette River during the evening hours. For unknown reasons, one of them became involved in a collision with a sailboat near Sellwood Riverfront Park.

The jet skier sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident. The victim was transported to a local hospital for emergency medical care.

No other injuries were reported as a result of this accident.

At this time, investigations surrounding the accident are underway
