Portland, OR – James Dougherty Loses Life in Head-on Crash on Highway 22 near MM 17
Portland, OR (December 3, 2021) – A motor vehicle accident reported in the Portland area claimed one man’s life on Thursday evening. At around 6 p.m., on December 2, emergency crews were notified that an accident took place on Highway 22.
Reports from local authorities show that James Dougherty was driving a Toyota Avalon on Highway 22 when his vehicle collided head-on with a Honda Element near mile marker 17.
Both Dougherty and the driver of the Honda, 50-year-old Samuel Clark, were injured in the crash. The two victims were rushed to area hospitals for care. However, authorities confirmed that James Dougherty passed away after arriving.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
