Portland, OR – Jacob Hernandez-Arellano Killed in Truck Crash on I-5, One Injured
Portland, OR (August 17, 2022) – A teen lost his life following a motor vehicle accident on Monday afternoon in Portland. At around 2:40 p.m., on August 15, emergency crews in Marion County were called to a crash that occurred on Interstate 5.
Reports from the Oregon State Police show that 18-year-old Jacob Hernandez-Arellano was driving a Honda Civic south on Interstate 5. For unknown reasons, he became involved in a crash with a semi-truck that was hitched with a trailer.
Both vehicles came to a stop on the right side of the roadway.
Hernandez-Arellano died at the scene as a result of his injuries.
His passenger was rushed to a local hospital for the treatment of injuries.
The driver of the truck, 52-year-old Jasvir Singh, was not injured in the accident.
The Oregon State Police is investigating the crash at this time.
