Car Accidents in Oregon
Each year, tens of thousands of people in the state of Oregon are left with injuries as a result of motor vehicle accidents. These crashes can often be attributed to drivers who engage in reckless and negligent actions. Some of the leading factors in auto collisions in our state include:
Speeding: When drivers fail to maintain a safe speed with their vehicles. While traveling along our roadways, they place others at risk of being harmed. We see many people hurt as a result of drivers who are speeding during inclement weather, and unsafe roadways, and under various other circumstances. Traveling too fast can prevent a driver from stopping their vehicle in time to avoid a collision.
Distractions: There are many instances where people are harmed in motor vehicle accidents as a result of drivers who are distracted. When people are texting while operating their vehicles, eating food, and engaging in conversation with others in the vehicle, they often take their attention off the road ahead. Even a moment of inattention can’t have life-changing consequences for others.
Recklessness: When people run red lights, pass stop signs, and engage in other reckless and negligent actions while behind the wheel, they place the lives of others sharing the road at risk. Unfortunately, we see people engage in these reckless actions every single day across our state.
When drivers engage in these and other reckless and negligent actions, they often cause accidents that cause significant injuries.
