Car Accidents in Oregon
Crashes in the state of Oregon only thousands of people hurt every year. Unfortunately, many of these accidents are preventable. There are a number of different injuries that can be sustained in a car accident, ranging from relatively minor cuts and bruises to more severe injuries, such as broken bones, spinal cord injuries, internal organ damage, and head injuries. While some of these injuries may heal with time and proper medical treatment, others can result in permanent disability or even death.
Broken bones are incredibly common injuries when it comes to motor vehicle accidents. The impact of a car crash can cause bones to break or even chatter. This can result in overwhelming pain and suffering, loss of mobility, and severe swelling. In some cases, surgery may be required to repair the damage.
Spinal cord injuries can also occur in car accidents, often with catastrophic results. Depending on the severity of the injury, a victim may be left with paraplegia or quadriplegia, depending on the location.
Internal organ damage is another serious potential injury from car crashes in Oregon. The force of impact of a crash can result in organs rupturing or bleeding. This can lead to potentially life-threatening conditions. Head injuries are also common in car accidents and can range from concussions to skull fractures. A traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a particularly serious form of head injury that can result in long-term cognitive impairment or even death.
