Fatal Car Accidents in Oregon

Portland, OR – Adriana Shelton & Aaliyah Shelton Killed in Car Crash on NW 185th AveOregon crashes are the cause of hundreds of deaths each year. No matter how careful drivers are, they cannot prevent others from engaging in potentially life-threatening actions. As a result, countless innocent people lose their lives due to the actions of others.

Leading causes of fatal crashes in Oregon often include some type of negligence. One major cause of fatal crashes in Oregon is speeding. Many drivers choose to speed because they think it will make the ride shorter. However, this is not always the case. Speeding can actually increase the chances of getting into an accident because it increases the severity of the impact.

Distractions also play a big role in fatal car accidents. Distractions can come from a variety of sources, including cell phone use, eating and drinking, and talking to passengers. When drivers are distracted, they are less likely to be aware of their surroundings and react quickly enough when something happens. This can lead to serious injury or death.

In addition to distractions and speeding, impairment also plays a role in many fatal car accidents in Oregon. Driving while impaired can come from drugs or alcohol, but it can also come from illness or fatigue. When someone is impaired, they are not as alert and may not be able to drive safely.
