Auto Accidents in Oregon
Oregon crashes take place far too often. Unfortunately, these incidents leave tens of thousands of people harmed every year in our state. We see many crashes caused by drivers who choose to engage in acts of negligence while behind the wheel. Some common causes of collisions in Oregon include:
Distracted driving is any activity that takes a driver’s attention away from the road. This can include talking or texting on a cell phone, eating, drinking, talking to passengers, checking the GPS, or changing the radio station.
Changing lanes in a reckless manner can also lead to serious accidents. When drivers fail to check their blind spots before switching lanes, they can crash into other vehicles and cause severe injuries to others.
Impaired driving is any type of driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This includes prescription medications that can affect a person’s ability to drive safely. Unfortunately, there are many accidents that take place in our state as a result of impairment.
Speeding is one of the most common causes of car accidents. Speeding makes it more difficult for drivers to control their vehicles and leaves less time to react to other vehicles sharing the road.
