Aloha, OR – Pedestrian Loses Life in Crash on Tualatin Valley Highway near SW 178th AveOregon Legal News
Portland, OR (March 19, 2023) – A pedestrian has died following a motor vehicle accident that took place early Friday morning in the Aloha area.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported an accident that took place just before 4:00 a.m. on March 17.
According to reports, a pedestrian, who has not been identified publicly, was struck by a vehicle on the Tualatin Valley Highway in the area near Southwest 178th Avenue during the morning hours. The vehicle then proceeded forward after striking the pedestrian and collided with a power pole. The pedestrian, who was in a crosswalk, suffered fatal injuries due to the accident. The victim was declared deceased on-site.
The vehicle’s driver, 32-year-old Emmanuelle Starr, was transported to an area hospital for the treatment of injuries. Starr was determined to be impaired at the time of the accident and speeding. He was taken into custody by the police, where he is facing charges of second-degree manslaughter, reckless driving, and driving under the influence of intoxicants.
The incident remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at this time.
